AUSTRALIAN INSPIRED PATTERNS

Brief 1: Design three fabric patterns featuring, and inspired by, Australian Flora and Fauna for a local fabric house. My patterns were inspired by the ‘Manna Gum’ which dominate the area around my holiday home on Lake Eildon. I found a beauty and majesty in the dead manna gums scattered throughout the lake.

Brief 2: Develop the above patterns and apply three Australian Climatic zone colourways: ‘Tropical, Arid and 'Alpine’. I began my extracting six different colours from three images of each colourway. After careful colour research, I selected and combined two colours from each that worked in harmony together and with the pattern, creating three unique options.
